Students who wish to teach grades 5-9 in a middle school enter the middle-level teacher preparation program. Middle-level teacher education students must complete their licensure by having one academic area of concentration of 32-33 credit hours plus a concentration in reading/literacy included in the coursework below. All teacher preparation programs involve extensive experiences in partner schools.
All students wishing to enter the middle-level teacher program will take the following coursework in general education and professional education plus the area of concentration chosen from Language Arts, Mathematics, Science or Social Studies.
