COMM 121 - INTRODUCTION TO MEDIA THEORY

This course provides a wide overview of approaches to communications, particularly from the standpoint of how media constructs our everyday lives. The written assignments, readings, and discussions will focus primarily on how theoretical models are used in contemporary film, marketing, advertising, public relations, journalism, and other fields. The course will emphasize social and cultural perspectives on media over a variety of technologies.
