Cybersecurity, M.S.

The Master of Science in Cybersecurity requires 30 graduate credit hours.  Coursework is available online and, in a part-time or a one-year full time format. Refer to the Graduate Admission Requirements page for more information regarding admission criteria. The cybersecurity program creates a graduate technical degree in the cybersecurity field that will allow graduates to move into high-demand information security careers.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the program, students should be able to:

  • Explain fundamental cybersecurity principles and threats.
  • Detect, analyze, and resolve security issues related to threats and vulnerabilities in cyber infrastructures.
  • Implement strategies and apply software tools to mitigate cyber risks and vulnerabilities. 
  • Apply cybersecurity policies, regulations, ethical practice effectively and professionally.
  • Analyze and develop crypto algorithms for encryption of data over wired or wireless communications or stored media.

 

BUS-501, Survey of Business, will be required if the applicant’s GPA is below a 3.0 and/or if the applicant’s undergraduate degree was outside the area of business, however, credits earned for BUS 501 do not count toward graduate degree requirements.
