Return to: Academic Programs (by school)
The Chemistry major prepares students to enter the chemical industry, agriculture, the food industry, environmental protection, health sciences, energy, and government. A bachelors degree in chemistry also provides excellent pre-professional education for those seeking careers in chemistry, the health professions or law, particularly environmental regulatory law and patent law. Students with an undergraduate degree in chemistry, particularly with undergraduate research experience and a high grade point average are prepared to apply for graduate programs in chemistry, medical school, pharmacy school and other post-graduate educational opportunities. A minor is required for a B.S. in Chemistry. Participating in undergraduate research is strongly encouraged.
