The ESL Bridge Program at Maryville University offers English as a Second Language (ESL) courses that are tailored for conditionally admitted students who are academically admissible but who achieve a low English proficiency exam score. English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are available to prepare these students to meet the English proficiency requirements for their degree program at Maryville University.
Placement in English as a Second Language (ESL) courses is based on a student’s performance on the Institutional TOEFL exam offered at Maryville University at the beginning of each fall and spring semester. Course placement ranges from enrolling in all ESL courses to enrolling in a combination of ESL and academic courses during a fall or spring semester. ESL courses are not available during the summer. Students enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester and are allowed to remain in ESL courses for up to 3 semesters.
For details about admission requirements for the ESL Bridge Program, please contact the Office of International Admissions.
