The Maryville University Nursing Program offers a 36–42 credit hour program leading to the Master of Science in Nursing. The graduate program offers emphasis areas in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, and Pediatric (Primary Care) Nurse Practitioner programs.  In addition, the graduate program offers a post-Master’s option for each of the emphasis areas.  Students will be advised on an individual basis regarding the required courses for their program.  The curriculum is designed to provide maximum flexibility for full or part-time study with classes in the evening or online. 

The baccalaureate degree in nursing, the master’s degree in nursing and the Doctor of Nursing Practice at Maryville University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, One Dupont Circle, NW, Suite 530, Washington, DC 20036, 202-887-6791.

Admission requirements include:

  • BSN from an NLNAC/CCNE accredited program.

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 point scale.

  • Current unencumbered Missouri RN license.

  • Three letters of recommendation.

  • Copy of curriculum vitae/resume.

  • A 500-word essay outlining the applicant’s professional goals as a nurse practitioner and philosophy of graduate education.

  • An interview may be requested.
