Minor in Deaf Studies

Students will be presented with basic factual information about individuals having severe hearing  loss/deafness, various cultures within the Deaf Community, rearing children who are deaf, social stigmas associated with deafness, educational and employment opportunities available, various forms of sign language used in the Deaf community, and future of sign language usage with the hearing impaired/Deaf population in light of increased cochlear implant surgery.
