Management & Leadership, B.S.

The general Management & Leadership major is designed to provide a comprehensive general business education. Students take both introductory and advanced courses from a variety of business disciplines. In addition, elective credits that count toward the degree allow students to pursue their special areas of interest, including opportunities for cooperative education. This degree prepares students to assume entry-level management positions in a variety of industries.

The BS in Management & Leadership is accredited by ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs).

Program Outcomes:

A graduate of Maryville University with a major in Management & Leadership should be able to:

  • Identify appropriate leadership competencies to address or resolve complex management challenges in a diverse, technologically adept, global environment.
  • Describe strategies to steer organizational change and explain factors that impact organizational performance.
  • Explain how competitive forces and the macro environment impact business operations and decision-making.
  • Articulate, orally and in writing, the unique value contributed by ethical management to organizational performance.

Graduation Requirements


  • 128 credit hours minimum (last 30 hours in residency)
  • A minimum half the major credit hours in residency
  • A minimum half the minor credit hours in residency
  • ​60 credit hours must be completed at a 4-year institution
