The Maryville Actuarial Science program offers a curriculum that integrates the liberal arts with professional studies in business and mathematics, leading to a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Actuarial Science. Maryville is one of the few schools in the nation to offer a comprehensive degree program in Actuarial Science.
Prospective applicants should have a high aptitude for, and solid background in, mathematics and an interest in the world of business and finance. An ACT sub-score in mathematics of at least 26 is required for admission to the program, including transfer students. The major is highly interdisciplinary in content, requiring a total of 61 hours from general mathematics, statistics, actuarial mathematics, business, economics and finance.

General Education Requirements:
- One course in art, music, performance, or aesthetics
- One other course in English or in a foreign language
- One course in philosophy
- Two additional courses in English, art, aesthetics, foreign language, humanities, philosophy or religion
- One course in science plus MATH 152
- One course in American history or government
- Two courses in economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, or sociology
Additional Requirements:
- Additional electives to reach a total of 61 hours of General Education courses
