The B. A. in Graphic Design is intended for the student wishing a broad exposure to the study of graphic design and the time to pursue a second strong academic interest. The B.A. is a liberal arts degree as such reduces the time concentrated on graphic design and is therefore an appropriate choice for a student considering a double major or minor in a complementary discipline such as writing or business.  (The B.F.A. is a professional degree with a 90-credit major. The B.A. is a 48-credit hour major.)

The Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design is a liberal arts, undergraduate course of study and consists of 128 credit hours, 48 of which are in art and design foundations, graphic design and art history. Requirements for a minor also must be completed for the B.A. (See a curriculum guide for recommended sequencing.)  Like all of the Art & Design  programs, it is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art & Design (NASAD).
