CMSD 100 - Introduction to Communication Disorders Credits: 3 This course will provide students with an overview of normal speech, language, hearing, and feeding/swallowing development. The etiology and characteristics of developmental and acquired disorders of speech, language, hearing, and feeding/swallowing across the lifespan will be introduced; the functional, academic, vocational, social, and emotional impacts of these disorders will be discussed. Assessment and treatment of speech, language, hearing, and feeding/swallowing disorders, with an emphasis on evidence-based practice, will be introduced. This course is required for CMSD majors.
