MUS 179 - Audio Engineering I
Credits: 3
This course will introduce students to essential techniques in sound engineering and music recording. Topics will include hardware use such as microphones, digital interfaces, audio cables, and microphone stands. DAWs (digital audio workstations), VST instruments (virtual studio technology), and other digital effects plug-ins, will be explored extensively through musical projects involving: recording, sound engineering, editing, mixing, mastering, and rendering. Video editing will be included in this course as an ancillary subject.
