MUS 279 - Audio Engineering II Credits: 3 This course will advance students’ understanding of essential techniques in sound engineering, music recording, mixing and mastering, and video integration and editing. Topics will include hardware use as well as assimilation of multi-layered digital FX plugins, sound library use including samples and loops, and live sound recording manipulation. DAWs (digital audio workstations), VST instruments (virtual studio technology), and other digital effects (FX) plug-ins, will be explored more extensively through a myriad of musical projects involving: recording, sound engineering, editing, mixing, mastering, and rendering. Video editing will be included in this course as an ancillary subject. Prerequisite: MUS-179
