NURS 302C - Required Clinical - Psychosocial Nursing Care Credits: 1 The psychosocial nursing clinical experience provides students with the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge and develop skills in caring for individuals and families experiencing mental health and psychosocial challenges. Students will engage in person-centered, evidence-based care to address the emotional, psychological, social, and cultural needs of diverse patient populations. Emphasis is placed on fostering therapeutic relationships, conducting holistic psychosocial assessments, and implementing evidence-based interventions to promote mental health, resilience, and well-being.
Through clinical practice, students will collaborate with interprofessional teams and develop critical thinking and clinical judgment skills. Students will also explore the impact of social determinants of health, cultural diversity, and health inequities on mental health outcomes. The course prepares students to provide compassionate, ethical, and culturally sensitive care that promotes healing and supports self-care management for individuals with mental health
