NURS 303C - Required Clinical - Nursing Care of the Adult I

This clinical practicum provides students with hands-on experience in addressing the physiologic, psychosocial, and learning needs of diverse adult clients requiring medical-surgical care. Students will apply clinical judgment and reasoning to deliver holistic, evidence-based nursing care, focusing on illness prevention, management of acute and chronic conditions. The students will integrate learned knowledge from previous and current course work into their practice, utilizing critical thinking to assess client needs and prioritize care in complex scenarios.

The course emphasizes ethical, legal, cultural, and socioeconomic considerations, preparing students to provide safe, client-centered care in diverse environments. Students will engage in interdisciplinary collaboration and client advocacy while refining their communication skills. The course will incorporate simulation experiences, in which students will practice client care scenarios in a risk-free setting, enhancing their confidence and competence.
