(with an area of concentration in Secondary Teaching and Inquiry / Leading to Social Studies Certification)
Maryville students who wish to teach history in grades 9-12 complete the history major with specific science certification requirements and complete the M.A. in Education in their fifth year. A student may enter this program while an undergraduate at Maryville University through the Early Access Program. Political science majors may prepare for the M.A. in Ed. /Secondary Teaching and Inquiry leading to social studies certification also. However, their preparation must include the history and other social science coursework listed above. |
