Engineering (Dual Degree) B.S.

The Engineering Duel Degree program is a joint degree program of Maryville with the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences of Washington University, University of Missouri Kansas City, and Missouri University of Science and Technology. The areas of study in this program:

  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Computer Science & Computer Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Systems Science and Engineering

Students in this program will spend the first two to three years at Maryville acquiring a firm foundation in chemistry, computer science, mathematics, physics, and/or biology, as well as a broad background in the humanities and social sciences. A GPA of 3.25 or better, both overall and in mathematics and science courses, and a letter of recommendation from the pre-engineering adviser is normally required. Students then continue with two years of study at Washington University, University of Missouri Kansas City, and Missouri University of Science and Technology.

The Dual Degree study is an attractive alternative to traditional engineering curricula, which are often highly structured and require longer than four years to complete. The advantages of this degree program include the ability to complete degrees in two diverse areas, under predictable conditions and the opportunity to use the supportive, personalized environment at Maryville to develop the skills and confidence needed for success in engineering. Students earn a Science, B.S. from Maryville upon completion of degree requirements.
