The master’s degree program in Music Therapy is designed to provide the professional music therapist with advanced clinical training supported by studies in research, theory, ethics, and practice. Students will deepen their knowledge of treatment models related to a broad range of clinical populations, and gain in-depth understanding of emerging protocols and forms of practice. The emphasis at the graduate level will be on integration of entry level music therapy skills with research paradigms and advanced levels of clinical work. Emphasis will also be placed on understanding evidence-based research, teaching, supervision, and professional and personal development. The courses are offered in the evenings. Students may be full-time or part-time.

A mandatory one-week residency must be arranged for international students who complete a national internship. Additional residency requirements may be determined by the faculty adviser to include a defense of their specialization project. Details and dates of the residency must be determined by the faculty adviser in writing prior to beginning the internship.

Students may complete one of the Tracks below as they complete their electives for the degree.
