Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Big Data

The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Big Data will provide students with the practical skills required to store and manage large data sources, analyze, and summarize large data sets, and to use large datasets to create models. This certificate will prepare students for careers in Data Science, Data Analysis, and Data Engineering.

Additional Information
- Students pursuing a post-baccalaureate certificate in either Machine Learning or Big Data and who have prior experience programming in R or Python request to replace these course requirements with any 500 or 600 level course in ACSC, COSC, DSCI, or MATH. Approval for this request will be at the discretion of the Director of the Data Science Program.
- A student may complete both of these certificates but may count no more than two courses toward the requirements of both certificates. When necessary, additional course requirements can be met by taking any 500 or 600 level courses in ACSC, COSC, DSCI, or MATH.
- All courses taken while pursuing a certificate will earn Maryville credit, and can be counted toward completion of the Data Science, M.S. degree.
- All course requirements for completion if either certificate must be completed within two years of enrollment into the certificate program.
