The Maryville University BSN program provides academic preparation for entry into professional nursing practice through nursing licensure as well as the foundation for graduate study. The nursing curriculum prepares students to provide preventive, curative, and rehabilitative professional nursing care to individuals of all ages, to families, and to the community. There are three pre-licensure tracks to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

  • Traditional day BSN track: four-year traditional full-time degree program
    • Courses begin in the Fall semester
  • Fast Track BSN track: two-year full-time degree program
    •  Courses begin in the Fall semester at the junior year/level
    •  Eligible students must have completed all general education and nursing core courses (minimum of 63 credits earned) prior to beginning nursing courses
  • Weekend & Evening (WEC) BSN track (School of Adult and Online Education): part-time evening and weekend program
    • Courses begin in the Spring semester
    • Eligible students must have completed all general education and nursing core courses (minimum of 63 credits earned)
    • WEC classes scheduled every semester (including summer)
    • WEC clinicals scheduled according to the alternate weekend schedule published in the Maryville University Academic Calendar
    • WEC students must have availability weekdays during the day for clinical experiences in NURS 401: Foundations of Public Health Nursing and NURS 407: Transition to Professional Nursing Practice.

Transfer students may only apply for Evening Weekend or Fast Track BSN tracks. Admission to any program is dependent on compliance with admission requirements and available space in the nursing program. Students must furnish their own transportation to and from the clinical sites. The University One Fee for traditional day and fast track BSN students covers course materials, standardized testing package, liability insurance, lab materials, and clinical orientation materials. For Weekend College (WEC) BSN students, Maryville University covers the cost of standardized testing package, liability insurance, and clinical orientation materials. WEC students are responsible for covering their own costs related to course materials, and lab materials. For all BSN tracks, clinical requirement tracking account fees and Family Care Safety registry required for clinical are the student’s responsibility.

The Robert E. and Joan Luttig Schoor Undergraduate Nursing Program in the Catherine McAuley School of Nursing is fully approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing. It is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street NW Suite 750, Washington DC 20001, phone: 202-887-6791.
