Maryville’s highly acclaimed principal certificate program is for certified teachers with full-time classroom teaching experience with master’s degrees who seek an administrator role. Our 18-credit, one-year bridge program ensures admission to Maryville’s full Educational Leadership doctoral program. Developing leaders with vision, this cohort program places special emphasis on moral leadership.
Note: Candidates who successfully complete the three semester Principal Bridge program, (i.e. 18 credit hours), and the first two semesters, (i.e. 12 credit hours), of work in the EdD in Educational Leadership program, will be awarded the Master of Arts in Educational Leadership degree.
Candidates will be eligible for endorsement for the Missouri K-12 Initial Principal Certificate upon successful completion of the following:
- MA in Educational Leadership
- All required state assessments
- All requirements listed on Maryville’s current DESE-approved course matrix for the Missouri K-12 Initial Principal Certificate. Candidates should work directly with their advisors to ensure that all requirements have been met prior to submitting an application to DESE for initial principal certification.
Upon successful completion of the Bridge and EdD in Educational Leadership programs, as well as all required state exams, candidates will be eligible for endorsement for the K-12 Superintendent Certificate.
