Data Analytics, M.S.

The Master of Data Analytics requires 30 graduate credit hours.  Coursework is available in the online format. Refer to the Graduate Admission Requirements page for more information regarding admission criteria. The data analytics program combines operational data with analytical tools to present complex and competitive information to business planners and decision makers.  The objective of the program is to improve the timeliness and quality of inputs to the decision process.

The John E. Simon School of Business introduced the new MS in Data Analytics in the 2017-18 academic year. This Degree, as are all programs at Maryville University, is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). However, the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), our specialized accrediting organization, will not add any new majors to the list of accredited programs until the new program has been offered for two years, and its first students have graduated.

Depending upon the student’s background, a foundational course in statistics may be required. BUS-501, Survey of Business, will be required if the applicant’s GPA is below a 3.0 and/or if the applicant’s undergraduate degree was outside the area of business; however, credits earned for  BUS 501 do not count toward graduate degree requirements
