Artificial Intelligence, M.S.

The Master of Science in Artificial Science program trains students to become skilled and ethical practitioners of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies. The program introduces students to cutting-edge techniques and technologies related to Artificial Intelligence and familiarizes them with several current applications of Artificial Intelligence taken from a variety of fields. The program also seeks to train students to be responsible stewards of data and ethical Artificial Intelligence practitioners

The Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence program requires the completion of 11 courses (33 credit hours). Students will complete a required core of 8 courses and can personalize their degree through the selection of 3 elective courses. Coursework is available in an online format.

Experiential Learning

The Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence program places an emphasis on experiential, project-based learning. Students enrolled in the program will be presented with many opportunities to apply Artificial Intelligence techniques to address real-world problems. The program culminates in a capstone project in which students will work with a team of peers to develop a complete AI solution to a real-world problem.

Accelerated Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence

This unique option enables the Maryville undergraduate majoring in computer science, data science, mathematics, and sciences to complete the master’s program in just one additional year. In this option, four courses (12 credits) taken during the senior year as part of the undergraduate curriculum also count toward the master’s degree. The students complete 24 credits in the fifth year of study to complete the requirements of the master’s degree. Students with 75 undergraduate credits, at least 20 at Maryville University, and GPA 3.25 can apply the early Accelerated Master’s Option. No GRE or TOEFL is required for Maryville students entering the accelerated master’s program.

Post Baccalaureate Certificates

Students who complete the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence program will also earn the Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence Post Baccalaureate Certificate   . They will also be able to apply 6 credit hours of completed coursework toward the Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Machine Learning  and the Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Big Data .
