Gifted Education M.A.Ed.

This program is designed for teachers or other school personnel who already hold initial teaching certification and have a minimum of one year of experience. The program is designed to provide students with an understanding of the unique needs of gifted students, curriculum and instruction to meet those needs, and the processes for developing appropriate programs and services for gifted students in the context of the regular classroom as well as in special education programs. The program leads to gifted certification in the state of Missouri. Graduates are prepared to succeed in roles as teachers of the gifted, coordinators of gifted programs in local school districts, and building leaders in the local school. The M.A. degree requires 30 credit hours.
