Psychology, B.A.

The purpose of the psychology program is to provide students with a grasp of the guiding psychological principles of human behavior. Coursework falls into three categories: a clinical/counseling concentration, a social/experimental concentration, and a developmental concentration. Students are free to choose courses within each of these three categories to fulfill the requirements for the major. The program emphasizes applied career-related experiences as well as a foundation in the broad theoretical issues of contemporary psychology. Coursework and practicum experiences also are designed to develop in students an enhanced social awareness, an appreciation of individual differences, and a sense of social responsibility.

A minor is required for a B.A. in Psychology.
