Division of Student Success
At Maryville University, we value learning as a highly personal pursuit. We are committed to enabling students to become architects of their own education through innovation in teaching and learning, and our Digital World program, which provides free iPads for students and more than 75 learning and study apps in the Maryville Cloud. Life coaches help first-year students transition to college, and continue to serve as a resource throughout their Maryville years so students get the most of their educational experience.
Student Life
The student population of Maryville University has doubled over the past decade, and continues to set new records with each academic year. The Office of Student Life keeps pace with the vibrant interests of our students by hosting more than 95 student organizations and more than 2,500 campus events scheduled each academic year.
Known as the Saints, our athletics teams compete in more than 20 sports at the NCAA Division II level in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Maryville’s growing club sport program features men’s and women’s sports, and includes a national champion eSports team.
Spaces and Places
As one of America’s most wired campuses, students engage in modernized classrooms designed for collaboration, flexibility, and personalized learning. Opened in January of 2015, Walker Hall—home of the Walker College of Health Professions—is our flagship academic building, and features state-of-the-art labs and training facilities.
Maryville offers five student apartment complexes and three residential halls, including Saints Hall, our newest student living space, opened in Fall 2016.
University Library provides collaborative and individual study spaces with state-of-the-art technology resources, and a Kaldi’s coffeehouse. Other gathering spaces include Donius University Center and Buder Commons.
Maryville’s athletic grounds feature a multipurpose soccer/lacrosse field, and Weber Field, home of Saints baseball, both fully renovated in 2016. Simon Athletic Center offer 24/7 fitness facilities.
Partnerships
Maryville is proud to work with numerous corporate and civic organizations in St. Louis and beyond through partnerships created in support of our academic programs and student opportunities. The list of the University’s partners is impressive, and continually expanding: Rawlings, Mercy, St. Louis Public Schools, Parkway School District, Edward Jones, Northwestern Mutual, RGA, St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, and Maritz, just to name a few.
Our partners provide students with opportunities to experience hands-on involvement in real-world projects, requiring them to hone market-ready skills even before they graduate. Students also experience a variety of work environments and develop a network of industry contacts through these partnerships, so Maryville graduates often have a competitive edge in the job market. In fact, many of our partners provide valuable internships—which can lead to full-time jobs with the firm or agency.
