ACSC 611 - Derivative Markets Credits: Three (3) The course covers the theoretical basis of certain actuarial models and the application of those models to insurance and other financial risks. Topics include interest rate models, rational valuation of derivative securities, simulation, and risk management techniques. A thorough knowledge of calculus, probability, and interest theory is assumed. Basic knowledge of risk management is also assumed.
ACSC-611 and ACSC-516 cover all of the learning objectives contained in Examination IFM (Investments and Financial Markets) of the Society of Actuaries. Note: This course is for graduate students only.
