PSCI 305 - Globalization Toward Sustainability


Credits: 3
This course aims to answer five board theoretical questions: First, what is globalization and sustainability. Second, how do we account for the various institutions, economies, and inequalities of the world? Third, what is the relationship between technology, sustainability, and integrity? Fourth, what role does government institutions play in implementing social and economic outcome? Lastly, why have counter-movements developed in response to globalization and sustainability? The course material seeks to expand your understanding of the evolution of international relations and economic development. This course will provide you will a basic understanding of new democratic movements, debates on climate change, green technology, agricultural globalization, and global crises. The course assignments are aimed at assessing course outcomes. While, overall course participation will develop intellectual and practical skills, including analysis, critical and creative thinking, information and technological literacy, written and oral communication, and teamwork.
