ADAH 207H - Digital Technology in the Study of Art Credits: 3 This course examines innovative applications of digital technologies in the examination of art and archaeological materials. Students will explore a variety of topics including the use of x-ray and multispectral imaging technology in the examination of works or art and site prospections, 3-D modeling software for site reconstruction, LIDAR and photogrammerty for acquiring detailed object, building and site measurements, and archaeological techniques for material sourcing, dating and artifact analysis. The course is designed to introduce students to cutting edge technologies in the study of art. Readings and hands-on laboratory exercises will supplement slide lecture. General Education Area: Fine Arts, Humanties Prerequisite: Membership in Bascom Honors Program
