EDUC 471 - Social Science Methods
Credits: 3
This course is designed to help elementary and elementary/early childhood education candidates understand research-based best practices in social science education. The focus is on the local, state & national standards, including geography, economics, and culture. Additional focus areas include instructional strategies appropriate for teaching social science, assessment, culturally responsive teaching practices, and differentiation strategies. Emphasis is placed on writing lessons and a unit of instruction that incorporates technology and critical thinking skills.
