EDUC 553 - Teaching Social Science Methods: Secondary Credits: 3 This course is designed to help secondary education candidates understand research-based best practices in social science education. The focus is on the local, state & national standards in social science. Additional focus areas include instructional strategies appropriate for teaching social science, assessment, culturally responsive teaching practices, and differentiation strategies. Emphasis is placed on writing lessons and a unit of instruction that incorporate technology, literacy strategies, and critical thinking skills.
