For students who enjoy studying about people, Maryville offers an outstanding social science curriculum with eleven different major choices: Communication, Criminal Justice/Criminology, Forensic Psychology/Criminal Justice, History, International Studies, Organizational Leadership, Political Science, Psychology, Psychology with a Minor in Rehabilitation Services, Sociology, and Psychology/Sociology. At Maryville, a student in these disciplines develops the skills most valued by employers: excellent written and oral communication skills, “people skills” in interviewing and relating with a diverse population, skills in understanding how to gather and analyze information, and critical thinking skills.
All social science majors are designed to meet the career needs of social service professionals, educators, and business leaders.
