The Spanish Minor at Maryville University gives students a thorough foundation in the Spanish language and provides them with the cultural competence needed to engage successfully in a multicultural society. The minor requires 15 to 21 credit hours, depending on the student’s initial language proficiency. Students are encouraged to integrate study abroad programs into their minor; the Center for Global Education will help students plan these programs. Students also will have the opportunity to intern with local firms, hospitals, and other organizations involved with Hispanic business, education, and culture.
