The Nursing program has three pre-licensure options. One option is designed to admit traditional age students as freshmen. A second option is the part-time Adult and Online Education option. The third option is the Fast Track option which is primarily designed for transfer students who have completed 65 credits of liberal arts and science coursework including the core courses. Each option accepts students for the fall semester each year. Transfer students may apply at any time; admission is dependent upon compliance with admission requirements and available space in the courses needed by the student.
The Maryville Nursing baccalaureate program is fully approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, One DuPont Circle, NW, Suite 530, Washington DC 20036, 202-887-6791. In addition to providing academic preparation for entry into professional nursing practice through licensure, the Maryville Nursing program also provides the student with the foundation for graduate study. The nursing curriculum prepares students to provide preventive, curative and rehabilitative professional nursing care to individuals of all ages, to families, and to the community.
The program can be completed on a full-time basis through the day and Fast Track programs or part-time through Adult and Online Education. Clinical activities are held during the day, evening and on weekends. Students must furnish their own transportation to and from clinical sites.
For certain courses, laboratory, examination and malpractice insurance fees are assessed.
