A tremendous need exists in national and global classrooms for educators who integrate science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). STEM educators help bolster the pipeline of talented individuals ready for 21st century careers. The STEM Education Certificate Program is geared toward K-8 teachers, librarians, media specialists, tehnology traininers, principals, instructional coaches, and others interested in meeting state and national standards while engaging students in STEM. This innovative program will help teachers integrate STEM into the classroom with research-based best practices led by expert educators in the field.

Required Courses
Candidates for the Certificate in STEM Education are required to take a total of 9 hours of graduate credit. Required courses are listed below.
An additional 4 credits of electives (1 credit each) are chosen from among a wide range of innovative courses. Options may vary from one summer to the next.

Candidates will select four (4) one-credit electives on specific materials, methods, chosen from among a wide range of innovative courses. Four credits required, chosen from many options. Examples of electives are listed below. Options may vary from one summer to the next.
