The Bridge to Principal Certification and the EdD in Educational Leadership is designed for candidates interested in pursuing the EdD in Educational Administration, but who do not hold certification as a building administrator. Only candidates who have earned a masters degree in education will be considered for this program.
The Bridge to Princpial Certification and the EdD in Educational Leadership consists of three (3) additional semesters of coursework (Required Bridge Coursework) focused on educational leadership at the building level. Candidates completing the bridge coursework move immediately into the 7-semester EdD in Educational Leadership program. At the conclusion of the full 10 semesters, candidates who successfully complete all required coursework and pass the required state licensure exams are eligible for the endorsement for certification as a building principal and district superintendent. Candidates for the Bridge to Principal Certification program must have their transcripts evaluated by faculty within the School of Education to determine eligibility for this program.
Note: Candidates who complete the three (3) semester Principal Bridge program but do not complete the EdD in Educational Leadership are not eligible for endorsement as a building principal.
