Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship Minor

In addition to a B.S. degree in Biology with a concentration in Sustainability, Maryville also offers a minor in Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship for those who wish to major in other fields, but recognize the importance of sustainability in all areas of life. This minor emphasizes the links between human choices and environmental effects and focuses on experiential learning, interdisciplinary approaches, and community outreach. The minor requires a minimum of 8 courses (4 required and 4 electives) for a total of 24-28 credit hours. Elective courses should be chosen in consultation with the student’s academic adviser.
