Nursing, M.S.N.

The Catherine McAuley School of Nursing offers a 41-50 credit hour program leading to the Master of Science in Nursing. The graduate program offers the following concentrations: Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. In addition, the graduate program offers a post-Master’s certificate option in each of the Nurse Practitioner concentrations. Students in the certificate option will be advised on an individual basis regarding the required courses for their program. The curriculum is designed to provide maximum flexibility for part-time study with classes on-line.

Effective Spring 2024, all five concentrations will contain 750 clinical hours. This change is to prepare students to meet changing standards for certification. Students admitted Fall 2023 and prior will remain in the current curriculum but may elect to move into the new curriculum by notifying the Office of Academic Records.

The baccalaureate degree in nursing, the master’s degree in nursing, the Doctor of Nursing Practice and the post-graduate APRN certificates at Maryville University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street NW, Suite 750, Washington DC 20001 202-887-6791.
