The sports business industry is a complex business. The Rawlings Sport Business Management major is focused on developing industry valued skills through experiential learning inside and outside of the classroom. Students have the benefit of a strong general business foundation through our John E. Simon business core, combined with special knowledge and experience in the areas that are critical for success in sports business management. The program provides students with specific competencies in corporate sponsorship, sales, data analysis, marketing, operations management, event management, and promotions as they relate to the sports industry through numerous partnerships with sport business organizations.
Students develop industry-valued skills by selecting one of three concentrations, Sports Marketing, Sport Data Analytics or Results-Centered Sales. These three areas have been developed in conjunction with industry professionals, so that curriculum is current and relevant.
Students gain practical experience through program exclusive experiential learning such as volunteer experiences, internships, industry research, and more.
