EDUC 204 - Intro to Early Childhood Education Credits: 3 This course is designed to help early childhood candidates explore the place of early education in American society. The focus of the course is understanding the historical, philosophical, and social foundations of early childhood education, as well as the types of early childhood programs and how they are organized and operated. Additional focus will be placed on understanding governmental and professional standards for early childhood professionals and programs. Emphasis is placed on an in-depth study of developmentally appropriate practice in early education. Early childhood candidates must take this course concurrently with EDUC 203, Infant and Toddler Practicum.
Corequisite: EDUC-203 (Early childhood candidates)
