EDUC 323 - Early Childhood Development Credits: 3 This course is designed to help early childhood candidates understand the typical developmental milestones of young children in all areas of development, including behavior, physical, cognitive, and social-emotional. The focus of the course is on understanding the acquisition of language as a developmental process and its implications for teachers of young children. An additional focus is placed on developing skills to observe students and evaluate development according to milestones. Emphasis will be placed on integrating skills from previous coursework into the course. This course, taken at the graduate level, requires additional readings and assignments.
