EDUC 231 - Math Methods II - Elementary Credits: 3 This course is designed to help elementary and elementary/early childhood education candidates understand research-based best practices in math education and build upon the content from EDUC 225. The focus is on the local, state & national mathematics standards, including number & operation, algebra, measurement, and data analysis. Additional focus areas include instructional strategies appropriate for teaching mathematics, assessment, problem-solving, and the incorporation of technology. Emphasis is placed on lesson planning, differentiation, culturally responsive teaching practices, and classroom management. Prerequisite: EDUC-225 Corequisite: EDUC-230
