EDUC 240 - Practicum in Fundamentals of Secondary Schools Credits: 2 The course is designed as a practicum experience in a secondary school setting. The overall focus of this course is on delivering and reflecting on three lessons as well as interactive observations, which include engaging with students and forming relationships with them, observing equitable teaching practices, differentiation of learning, and engaging instructional practices. Emphasis is placed on cooperative learning, differentiated instruction, reflection, and personal goal setting. Students will be formatively assessed on the MEES Standards. Candidates will be formatively assessed on the MEES Standards. Teacher candidates will attend practicum during assigned hours unless approved by the program director. Note: 1 variable credit with program director’s approval
