EDUC 473 - Early Childhood Leadership and Management Credits: 3 This course is designed to help teacher candidates develop leadership and decision-making skills that are needed for leaders of early childhood programs. The focus of this course is on building an understanding of leadership areas such as strategic planning, instructional leadership, marketing, grant writing, budgeting, and making strategic funding decisions. An additional focus is placed on the requirements for state licensing and the NAEYC guidelines for accreditation including areas of building management, nutrition, safety, and organization design. Emphasis will be placed on learning tools for working with staff to productively manage a facility to serve the best interests of children and families. Related Courses: EDUC-673
