The Business Administration major is a general business major designed to maximize the student’s flexibility. This major is ideal for the student who is interested in a major that surveys the field of business and complements a technical, or non-business, secondary concentration; or for the student who is looking for a general business degree to prepare for a specialist graduate degree.
The BS in Business Administration is accredited by the ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs).
Program Outcomes
A graduate of Maryville University with a major in business administration should be able to:
- Identify appropriate leadership competencies to address or resolve complex management challenges.
- Describe strategies to steer organizational change and explain factors that impact organizational performance.
- Explain how competitive forces and the macro environment impact business operations and decision-making.
- Discuss implications of ethics and sustainability in business operations and decision-making.

Graduation Requirements
- 128 credit hours minimum
- Last 30 hours of the degree taken in residency
- A minimum of half the major credit hours in residency
- A minimum of half the minor credit hours in residency
- 60 credit hours must be completed at a 4-year institution
