Computational Science Minor
Return to: College of Arts and Sciences
(28 credits)
Computational Science is an interdisciplinary program that prepares students to apply computational methods to scientific problems. More scientists are using high performance computing and computational modeling as a complement to their traditional experimental and theoretical methods. As a result, the next generation of chemists, biologists, biochemists, and physicists will be expected to have at least some degree of familiarity with computational scientific methods. This minor is designed for natural science and pre-engineering students but is available to all students meeting the prerequisites. It provides students with the mathematic courses, computing courses, and computational research experience necessary to apply computational methods to study real-world problems in their discipline of science.
