Machine Learning Graduate Certificate

The Machine Learning Graduate Certificate will provide students with the practical skills required to apply machine learning algorithms to guide business decisions. Students who complete this program will build a strong foundation in Machine Learning and Predictive Modeling, and will develop skills related to programming in R, Python, and SQL.

Required Coursework

Additional Information
- Students pursuing a post-baccalaureate certificate in either Machine Learning or Big Data and who have prior experience programming in R or Python request to replace these course requirements with any 500 or 600 level course in ACSC, COSC, DSCI, or MATH. Approval for this request will be at the discretion of the Director of the Data Science Program.
- A student may complete both of these certificates but may count no more than two courses toward the requirements of both certificates. When necessary, additional course requirements can be met by taking any 500 or 600 level courses in ACSC, COSC, DSCI, or MATH.
- All courses taken while pursuing a certificate will earn Maryville credit, and can be counted toward completion of the Data Science, M.S. degree.
- All course requirements for completion if either certificate must be completed within two years of enrollment into the certificate program.
